This article discusses the three main options for people, who are looking to reduce or even better, completely eliminate their electricity bill. These three options are solar, wind and magnetic power, and each one has its advantages and disadvantages. So here they are:
What are the pros and cons of Solar Power Systems?
Solar power systems have been becoming more and more popular in recent years. Arguably, they are the coolest and most attractive of all of the three options discussed here. They are the safest, they look the best, and they have the longest life and are pretty much set it and forget it. But what are the cons?
The cons of solar power systems are number one, that they are rather expensive. True, a solar power system could provide you with free electricity for years, but the initial investment might take over 10 years to repay itself. Does the average family, which would like to do away with its electricity bill really have this amount of money readily available. The answer, of course, would be no, so the biggest problem with solar power systems is their high price.
What are the pros and cons of Wind Power Turbines?
Wind Power Turbines might not look as cool as Solar Power Systems, but they do look impressive and catch the eye. Moreover, on a windy day they could accumulate quite a good deal of electricity, which would allow the person, who installed them to make quite good profit. Therefore, if they are installed in a good windy location, they should provide a good compensation and Return on Investment for their owners.
What about the cons? Well, first thing, wind power turbines are really not as ecological as one might believe. Yes, they do make free power, but they also kill birds, who have had the misfortune to fly in their area, from time to time. To add to that, on a more practical side, wind power turbines tend to be expensive like solar power systems. Having the costs of purchase and installation in mind, it is hard to see how such an investment could be feasible in the short to mid-term. So, it seems that wind power like solar power is a luxurious alternative energy source.
What are the pros and cons of Magnetic Power Generators?
Finally, we arrive at the least favorite option, and that is the magnetic power generator. The magnetic power generator is not so cool since it stays stuck in your garage, and it is not beautiful either. But it is not supposed to be. It is supposed to give you electricity day in and day off without much of a fuzz, and regardless of the natural circumstances. This is what it is good at, and this is what your should expect.
So, how about the cons of the magnetic power generator? Well, to keep things fair in comparison with the solar and wind power options, we must say that the magnetic power generator is not easy to install, you virtually have to make it yourself, and you would need to be skilled at DIY to be able to pull such a project together. However, it is much cheaper than the other two options, it is not influenced by the natural environment, and therefore seems like the best option, at least at first sight.
In conclusion, this article presented you the pros and cons of the three main alternative energy sources – solar, wind and magnetic power. All of these are excellent, but they also have their cons – the first two are expensive, and the third one is really hard to make. So which one of these do you pick? You will obviously need to do more research, and look no further in your quest for information than the “Green Living” website mentioned below.
