The two wires inside the whole thing are made of metal
Metals have free moving electrons
Then next outside thing closest to those inside wires. are magnets, one on each side.
They create a parallel magnetic field that is horizontal.
when you spin the metal wires, it causes a mangetic field to be given off. the field interacts with the field of the magnets.
This Force, then pushes the electrons along the wire.
The wire is attached to a resistor or whatever that needs powering or charging.
Thats generally how it works
To better understand, you need to go look at how electrons interact with magnetic fields. Look up the right hand slap rule. and Right hand grip rule.
A motor is the opposite.
a motor sends a current through the wire. producing a field. which interacts with the magnetic field of the magnets. causing a force, that causes the wires to spin.
My brother and I are currently engaged in this – basically you have magnets turning within a a coil – this generates electricity. My brother is out to put design plans on the web so that people can do it.

Well first of all Energy is not free.
Secondly a Motor is inverse of a generator
so for a motor. electricity causes magnets to spin bits of metal. to do work ( kinetic energy )
For a generator. We do work (kinetic energy) which spins magnets which produce a current.

Now, you have to understand 2 things before you will get whatever i say below
Electrons have electric and magnetic fields. When an electron is stationary, it only has an electric field.
Now look at this image

Good luck

A Magnetic Energy Motor is a device that produces energy.
The interessting part of it is, that it creates more energy than you need to get it going
The first one to dicover this phenomenon was Nikola Tesla : http://magnetenergy.com/nikola-tesla/
There are a lot of new inventions. Check out the web or some blogs like http://magnetmotoren.info
