Are Magnetic Generators Effective?

Thursday, September 1, 2011

I’ve been doing some research trying to find out if magnet generators are effective, and if so where is the best place to purchase the specs to make one. Supposedly, you CAN build them yourself with very little investment, and they will generate electricity throughout your whole house. I’m just hoping to find someone who [...]

Help in creating renewable energy?

I need to make a relatively new invention for a physics research that’ll help save the environment; so, I thought about doing something regarding electricity. My inspiration was the hamster generator … which then evolved (in my mind) to be a wheel being spun endlessly by magnets, thus creating power. Too bad people have already [...]

Can I convert an electric start mower starter into a wind turbine generator?

I know that electricity is produced from a rotating magnetic current, and a rotating magnetic current is produced around an electrified wire. This starter is designed so that a shaft with copper wire coiled around it has a current passed through it creating a rotational magnetic field that spins the shaft. Is it possible for [...]

Can you find the flaw in this perpetual motion idea?

A fixed magnet sits at the bottom of a hollow, non-conductive cylinder with its north pole turned upward (into the cylinder). Through a slot near the cylinder’s bottom, another magnet is inserted with its north pole turned downward. Magnetic repulsion pushes the two magnets apart. Since the bottom magnet is fixed, the other magnet must [...]

Using magnetic force to generate electricity?

So, I understand how electricity is generated via a generator by using magnetism to jump-start a movement in [loose] electrons (like in that of copper); however, how far do the electrons go and is there a finite amount? If they’re moving along the atoms in the copper, what happens at the destination? Ah, I see.. [...]

Can inertia of rotation help a generator work in vacuum/space with no fuel forever ?

Friday, June 3, 2011

I guess inertia of rotation allows an object rotate forgood till an opposing effective force finishes it & rotation of armature with coiling produces elctricity in magnetic field .In vacuum conditions ,there can be nothing to oppose . So using the facts can electricity be produced in space forever ? If no why ?

How is electrical energy generated in Dynamic Braking when using AC induction motors?

Saturday, May 14, 2011

Locomotives that use Dynamic Braking with DC traction motors excite the field coils of the motors and turn them into energy producing generators. AC induction motors don’t have that option since there are no windings on the rotating armature and there are no slip rings. When used as a traction motor, there are short circuited [...]

Discuss how power plants use generators. Include a discussion of how a source of mechanical energy is used and how the generator uses that energy source to produce electricity. Discuss the process used at a power plant to get electricity to your home from something such as burning coal, wind, or moving water. also: Suppose [...]
