My house runs completely on solar panels and I’ve heard that an EMP weapon "Electro Magnetic pulse" would fry them making them useless. I’ve also heard talk of possibly protecting electronics underground, is this possible? and if so how deep would you have to go? Naturally what’s on your roof would be toasted so what’s underground might be a large supply of solar cells packed away for panel construction later after the threat was gone. Of course if you’re hit again with another EMP you’re screwed right?

Also curious about the effects of an EMP on a wind generator that uses a permanent magnet alternator. I guess if the EMP magnetism was strong enough it could over heat and burn up the wire coils, not really sure of the effect on the permanent magnets.

I’ve read where it can actually magnetize an engine to the point it won’t even move. What steps can we take for our homes to prepare in case of an attack of this sort ?

If they’re moving along the atoms in the copper, what happens at the destination?
Ah, I see.. I understood the loop concept in smaller things that were battery operated, but for whatever reason pictured it differently for generators… Okay… So, the electricity used to power things is really just kinetic energy from electrons jumping from atom to atom? (Sort of like how photons [and other higher energy forms like gamma rays] are generated when electrons jump from energy levels, but instead this is from atom to atom??)

Thanks, again..

Hi, I wasn’t sure to place this question in engineering or physics, but it seemed more an electricity & magnetism question.

I am attempting to build a bicycle pedal-powered generator. A bicycle stand’s roller will move the DC motor’s (aka generator’s) shaft. I understand I will need a blocking diode (with a large heat sink) and also a voltage regulator and a pair of 12v batteries (it’s a 24v motor)…and lots of fuses in between (I am not taking any chances, but I am enjoying the attempt to build this).

However, I need to support the heavy motor / generator with a bracket. I purchased two 4-inch exhaust U-clamps to hold the motor to the platform, but the brackets have a strong magnetic attraction to the motor. Will this attraction (and the added metal of the bracket) interfere with the motor’s electrical generation capabilities?

The motor is a 24volt, 22amp capable of generating a maximum 350 watts, electric scooter motor XyD-6D permanent-magnet motor, 2600rpm. Thanks!

www.MagPower.ustutorial and testimony of building a magnetic free energy device that generates free electric energy for home use, to find out how this has been done visit www.MagPower.us Follow this easy set of plans to build your own Magniwork Magnetic Electricity Generator for your home or business. A complete system can be built AND installed easily, and for less than 0! The Magniwork plans are getting rave reviews. Great business opportunity for those who wish to build and install these systems! http Did you know that you could completely eliminate your power bill, by constructing a zero point magnetic power generator? A Zero point magnetic power generator is basically a Free Energy Generator. It uses magnets, and magnetic force to induce perpetual motion. It runs by itself, indefinitely without stopping, thus creating completely free electrical energy, which can fully power your home for free. A Perpetual motion device refers to a machine that runs perpetually ie indefinitely, and produces a larger amount of energy than it consumes. Thus, it produces free energy indefinitely, runs by itself, without having to need a third-party device or resource to power it. The free energy devices have been suppressed by the corporate world, because such devices, would allow people to create their own energy for free, which would ultimately shut down the big energy corporations, because people won’t need to pay anymore for electricity to fill their pockets. Can this device be …
